Nattō!
"Nattō (なっとう or 納豆) is a traditional Japanese Food made from soybeans fermented with Bacillus subtilis. It is popular especially as a breakfast food. As a rich source of protein and good bacteria, nattō and the soybean paste miso formed a vital source of nutrition in feudal Japan. Nattō can be an acquired taste because of its powerful smell, strong flavor, and slippery texture"

Schwartz's Smoked Meat Sandwich
After more than a week of not having internet access at home
I'm finally able to post more culinary impressions of my first
trip to Montreal.
On the last day me and Wil went to Schwartz's on Saint-Laurent,
the oldest deli in Canada (since 1928).
They are famous for their smoked meat.
Each of us got a big chunk of finest sliced medium fatty beef,
served with mustard and between two tiny slices of white bread.
And yes, it was delicious!
The meat was juicy, tender and very flavourful....
But the smell of this place, supposedly the smell of smoked
beef, definitely is something I need to get used too.
Quite intense.
At least the dogs we were staying with liked it.
They kept sniffing and even licking (!) our pants when we
got back home.
